Overview of the role;
GOA International are currently recruiting for a Data Engineer to support the IT Solutions team. The purpose of this role is to serve as GOAL HQ’s data lead. Supporting HQ, field, and global systems, the Data Engineer will design and build automated, data-driven solutions. As GOAL HQ’s subject matter expert in PowerBI, the Data Engineer will work closely with senior stakeholders to improve GOAL’s data practices.;;

Main Areas of Responsibility:
Data Analytics:;
- Serve as GOAL’s Subject Matter Expert for Data Analysis & PowerBI
- Act as IT lead on automation and analysis of cross-departmental global metrics
- Provide governance and input for design of;departmental reporting and analytics
Data Design:;
- Work closely with the IT Solutions Manager to design global datasets and flows in a secure and sustainable manner
- Serve as the primary focal point for the design of data solutions, working with Solutions Developers and supervising implementation of data structures by departmental focal points
- Design pathways to migrate legacy data new systems using tools such as MS PowerAutomate
- Liaise with Senior Stakeholders to agree concepts, designs, and plans for data design
Data Management:;
- Act as a global administrator for GOAL’s PowerBI Workspaces & data management platforms.
- Coordinate, plan, test and execute system upgrades.
- Ensure smooth retirement of legacy data solutions and migration to Azure & Dataverse
- Assist in the design and implementation of global PowerBI standards & guidelines
- Lead documentation of HQ data products and system changes
Learning:;
- Serve as a mentor to departmental IT focal points, teaching them how to best-leverage PowerBI and keep data clean
- Deliver training and inductions for PowerBI Report builders globally, ensuring adherence to basic;
Skills and Qualifications
Technical Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:;
- An undergraduate qualification in Data Analytics, Data Science, Software Engineering, or other relevant discipline
- Experience working with large, cross-functional datasets
- 2-4 years’ post-graduate work experience
- Knowledge of database design and governance
- Extensive experience with MS PowerBI
- Proven ability to exercise discretion in dealing with sensitive information
